Riyan Parag strikes unbeaten 84 off 45 to propel Rajasthan Royals to a 12 run win over Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The 22 year-old crunched 7 fours and 6 sixes as the Royals recovered from a precarious 36/3 to post a commanding 185/5 from their 20 overs.
The dynamic trio of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler all fell in quick time, but Parag continued his blistering form from their first game to make his 3rd IPL fifty in 46 innings.
First combining for 54 with the promoted Ravi Ashwin, Parag built another 50+ stand with Dhruv Jurel before closing the innings out with Shimron Hetymer as the home side plundered 43 runs in the final 16 balls.
Each of the Capitals bowlers took a wicket apiece, though the visitors will be disappointed with their overall bowling effort having dismissed the top order so cheaply.
The Australian pair of Mitch Marsh and David Warner started well in reply, but Nandre Burger broke through with two in three deliveries having clean bowled Marsh and removed Ricky Bhui for a duck.
David Warner later fell for 49 as Sandeep Sharma took a smart catch at short-third man, while captain Rishabh Pant was furious after Yuzvendra Chahal had him nicked behind for 28 and two set batters quickly followed each other to the pavilion.
South African Tristan Stubbs starred with a quick-fire unbeaten 44, putting DC back into contention, however seamer Avesh Khan held his nerve to defend a target of 17 runs in the final over.
His brilliant display of accurate wide yorkers meant Stubbs and Axar Patel could only muster three runs- much to the delight of a raucous home crowd.
Rajasthan Royals sit second with two wins from two; Delhi Capitals are eighth and yet to claim a win after two matches.
The Royals return to action on Monday when they face Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
DC face an in-form Chennai Super Kings in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.
