Heinrich Klaasen crunched yet another 50 before Reece Topley bagged 3 wickets in a brilliant 37-run victory for Durban Super Giants against Joburg Super Kings at Kingsmead.
The game marked a third consecutive triumph for DSG in the second edition of SA20.
Defending only 146, a modest total in the modern age of T20, the DSG bowlers had to be on great form from ball one and they duly delivered.
Former South African captain Faf Du Plessis was first to go when Keshav Maharaj bowled him for a sluggish 7, before a flurry of wickets followed as the JSK batters struggled to rotate strike or pepper the boundary boards.
Moeen Ali threatened with a classy 36 before his dismissal to fellow Englishman Topley (3-19) in the final over, but it was a case of too little too late with the visitors unable to build substantial partnerships throughout.
Richard Gleeson was also fantastic in taking 2-22 for the hosts.
Earlier on, DSG found themselves in deep trouble after winning the toss and opting to bat.
Slumping to 34-4 as Breetzke, De Kock, Smuts and Mulder departed inside 7 overs, again it would be Klaasen to stand up and propel them to a competitive total.
His calculated knock of 64 from only 41 deliveries featured 7 fours and 2 sixes.
West Indian pair Keemo Paul and Nicholas Pooran provided useful support with 17 and 15 respectively, but it was the maturity and quality of Klaasen that ultimately got them over the line.
Klaasen, 32, is second in the current SA20 run-scoring charts with 162 runs from 3 innings.
Lizaad Williams was brilliant in taking 4-26, including the wickets of Pooran and Klaasen, however the JSK batters simply could not back him up.
Defeat for JSK leaves them fifth in the table. They are winless with 2 losses and 1 no-result thus far.
DSG maintained their 100% winning record and sit top of the table with 13 points from 3 fixtures.
