Paddy Dooley was run-out from the final ball of the innings as Brisbane Heat claimed a one run DLS victory over Hobart Hurricanes at the Gabba.
Brisbane Heat made a decent start as openers Josh Brown and Colin Munro built a steady partnership, however regular wickets throughout the middle and latter stages restricted them to a total of 132-7.
Chris Jordan was the pick of the bowlers with a brilliant spell of 3-19, collecting the wickets of Matthew Renshaw, Paul Walter and Michael Neser.
Captain Nathan Ellis was also impressive in removing Nathan McSweeney and Sam Billings, picking up figures of 2-23.
In reply, the Hurricanes soon found themselves in deep trouble, Xavier Bartlett and Michael Neser combining to rip through the top order and reduce the visitors to 22-4.
Shortly after, rain brought a short delay in play as the Hurricanes target was reduced to 118 from 16 overs.
A sixth wicket partnership of 47 between Tim David and Nikhil Chaudhary left the Hurricanes 15 short of victory, though Spencer Johnson’s dismissal of David prompted a flurry of wickets in the final two overs.
Needing three to win off the final delivery, Ellis could only squirm a low full-toss from Paul Walter to mid-off as Dooley was ran-out.
Victory for Brisbane Heat strengthens their position at the top of the BBL table. They remain unbeaten with six wins and two no-results from eight fixtures.
Hobart Hurricanes sit fifth with a record of three wins and four losses from seven fixtures.
